California approves bill allowing driverless cars on state roadways

Some of the companies really pushing driverless cars can be found in California, including Google. Google is one of the biggest supporters of driverless cars and has a fleet of vehicles that have racked up over 300,000 accident-free miles while driving themselves. The state of Nevada already allows driverless cars to operate on its roadways.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 gets priced on Vodafone Germany

Android Central

Poking around the Vodafone booth at IFA 2012 in Berlin, some new information appeared regarding the newly announced Samsung Galaxy Note 2. A price. What we see here is the pricing for the 16GB LTE version, but the non-LTE Note 2 seems to be carrying the same price.

It's the off contract price that's of particular interest here. That €639.90 price tag translates to £508 or $804 in UK and U.S. pricing respectively. While not necessarily an accurate representation of what the cost may be when the Note 2 makes it to the U.S. it isn't too far off the price we would expect for such a device in the UK.

Samsung may sue Apple over LTE implementation

Samsung has been indicating that it isn’t going to Apple‘s victory in their high-profile patent case lying down. The company assured users that it “will take all necessary measures to ensure the availability of our products in the U.S. market,” earlier this week, and will undoubtedly attempt appeal, going all the way up to the

Samsung updates S Pen SDK to spread love for Galaxy Note II features

Samsung updates S Pen SDK to spread love for Galaxy Note II features

Owners of the original Galaxy Note won't have to look on the Galaxy Note II with complete envy. Samsung has updated the S Pen SDK to 2.2, letting developers' apps respond to a hovering stylus with Note II-style tricks. More brushes, effects, fills and fonts also join the mix, although not every new tweak is finding its way back to the first-run Note: pulling out the S Pen won't trigger app features without a Note II or Galaxy Note 10.1 involved. Even so, what's in the new SDK could be the key to a more sophisticated (and very hands-off) S Pen ecosystem. You'll find the tools to make it happen at the source link.

ZTE team up with Intel and announce the ZTE Grand X IN

Android Central

It only seems five minutes ago we had the ZTE Grand X released and already it is being superseded by another flagship device. The ZTE Grand X IN is powered by an Intel® Atom™ processor Z2460 with Intel® Hyper-Threading which should make the new handset more efficient in the power department whilst still delivering a fast and powerful experience. The majority of the specs look to be on-par with the original Grand X although the camera has had a boost and we now get an 8MP instead of the 5. The shell looks identical and from handling the Grand X I can say it is a pretty solid device for its price point.

Other features include a 4.3 inch TFT 16 million-color display, a 1650 mAh battery and HSPA+ 21Mbps. The device is planned for release in Europe during September and will run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box. There is no word on plans to get Jelly Bean on it so I wouldn't hold your breath for that one however when carriers announce pricing for the ZTE Grand X IN I expect them to be very competitive. The Grand X that launched here in the UK just last month is sitting just short of the £200 mark on pay as you go so fingers crossed the final figure for the IN will be in that ball park.

Catch the press release and full specs below:

Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 4 will support HiDPI, MacBook Pro Retina Display in 'the coming months'

You know who's likely to buy the MacBook Pro with Retina Display? Creative professionals (obviously). So you know what programs should really be optimized for that 2,880 x 1,800 screen? Try Photoshop, or Lightroom. Adobe hears your frustration, and apparently empathizes mightily: the company just posted a blog post promising Photoshop CS6, Lightroom 4 and Photoshop Touch will support HiDPI, including the MacBook Pro's Retina Display, within the "coming months." (No, this near-term update does not include Photoshop Elements, unfortunately.) While that timetable is on the vague side, the outfit says having a Creative Cloud membership will ensure you get that update sooner. Until then, your frankengadget renders will still look a little blurry, sorry.
