DirecTV quietly updates iPad app, HR34 DVR

DIRECTV updates iPad app, HR34 DVR with tktkt

DirecTV has quietly updated both its iPad app and HR34 DVR with a variety of new features for Satellite-loving customers. The application will now resume from where you left off, comes with a much improved search function and best of all, a direct line into the company's support forums. Meanwhile, the HR34 swallowed a software package that included Pandora, a YouTube landing page and more readable closed captions amongst a raft of other nips and tucks. The former will be available through the app store, while the latter should have arrived on your box overnight, well before you start on that CSI marathon.

  1. These are some pretty cool updates for DTV customers, but I'm already set up with a lot of these features on my Hopper from Dish. I have Facebook, Twitter, Pandora AND Sirius, Texas Hold 'em, and Dish recently doubled the amount of HD recording I can store (500 hrs.). I was also selected by Dish to do an employee beta-test of the free Dish Remote Access app; this lets me take all my live TV channels AND my DVR with me on the go. It works on dozens of devices and operating systems, unlike the DTV app, which works only on the iPad. It's a better product, and has been around quite a bit longer.
